Performance Opportunities

The department produces two concerts of student choreography each year and ½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« dancers regularly participate in ½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Arts Week, perform in student thesis productions and undertake independent projects. Dance faculty choreograph for the Contemporary Performance Ensemble, and ½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« dancers create choreography for the student-run ½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Dance Troupe.

Contemporary Performance Ensemble

Open through audition, ½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« dancers perform in works choreographed and directed by dance faculty and guest choreographers.

Student Dance Concerts

Each semester the dance department produces a concert of ½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« student choreography created both in and out of class.

Senior Thesis Productions

Dance and Dance/Theatre majors choreograph and present evening’s length performances of their own work as part of their senior thesis projects.

½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Dance Troupe

The student run rehearses weekly and presents choreography throughout the year.

Independent Projects

½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« students pursue many independent projects, often with the support of the Dance Department, , the Kaspar T. Locher Summer Creative Scholarship, the Jim Kahan Performing Arts Summer Fellowship, ½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« President's Summer Fellowship, or the ½ðËãÅÌÃâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Arts Grant Experience (RAGE).
